Seminar de sănătate ( Health Seminar )

As part of a tri-city grant, Cazangic held a health seminar for community leaders in Cahul and Hinceşti. The subject of this one was about diabetes. I really wished my Romanian was better because I marveled at some of the main discussion points. Number one was about eating more vegetables in the winter as a way to keep your body healthier and they showed off a number of different easy to grow fruits that can grow, even in the winter. Second, they showed off some easy blood testing kids to measure blood sugar. What I really wanted to say was how even with all of our technology and science, the United States has not managed to conquer diabetes. The best way is to tackle the problem from an early age and that includes testing for it, but I did not want to attempt to say anything as I’m not good enough to get across such detailed medical points. The highlight of the day though was practically all of my English Club students came in and sang a song for the seminar as well as there were some pretty funny sketches.
