I’m finally back from the land of freedom and justice (dripping sarcasm)! Amongst all of the well wishes and questions about how awesome America was, I find myself feeling neither and in fact quite the opposite. It was of course great to see all my friends, see Ruben get married and see little Fiona but I find myself quite distant from America itself. When I got off the plane in JFK, pretty much all I saw was fat. Overstuffed and unhealthy people everywhere, pushing and shoving and cursing. Don’t get me wrong, I spent the most formative parts of my life in New York- I know what it is and what it isn’t Clearly these people were from New Jersey!
!!!!!! ( kidding )

Jokes aside…

I actually felt really bad for the people I saw at JFK. I spend a lot of my free time reading medical trials and listening to talks by respected doctors and researchers to understand my own health situation better. I am far from being an expert- not even a novice really but I know that the people I saw at JFK have no idea how badly the food they are eating is poisoning them. I remember being a regular American and always thinking ” I just need to go to the gym more” or “I just need to diet”. Forget that, you just need to eat right! The people I saw at JFK probably are not even over eating and perhaps even try to eat healthy sometimes, but the food is so toxic, nothing can change their situation. Again, I feel sorry for people who have something happening to them not because of something specific they did but rather the failure of our medical community and our government to get their act together.

I eat horribly here in Moldova. I eat fried potatoes with tons of sunflower oil and salt. Its carb hell with evil white bread and a mix of veggies and meat. The difference is that there are no chemicals. Our animals eat grass not corn based products or genetically modified crap. So even with my bad nutrition, I am not only losing weight, but I am adding muscle and I have more energy than ever.

I wish I could transport those people to Moldova for a month and have them eat Moldovan food without chemicals and the results they would see would not only shock them, it might anger them. How many Americans live unhappy lives because of their health? How much happier would they be healthy?

One of the many things I have learned from Moldovans….

Check out the photos though, it was a blast otherwise!
