Operation Provide Hope is a U.S. State Department program that gives humanitarian assistance to countries of the former Soviet Union. As part of this project, the U.S. has given almost $26 million to the Republic of Moldova since 1992. The most recent shipments delivered medical equipment and supplies to hospitals in Balti, Cahul, Chisinau, and Tiraspol. The total value of these shipments was almost $4 million.
